crash update

First off I need to thank friend Team mate Steve as I laid on the pavement trying to asses the damage it was great to hear him Say ( "Jeff we are right here") knowing there were family and friends near made it much easer, and then some how Steve was able to pack all of my stuff up including my Pop up tent. THANKS! And then all of the concern for my condition from the team members is a wonderful feeling. That is part of why our team is so special. As for and up date two broke ribs on my left back side, road rash and just sore. Dr gives me 3 months for recovery and says to take it slow. Time for pain Meds:) SEE you guys soon!!

  1. Jeff, we are all wishing you well! Everyone has been kept in the loop of info and hope you get going fast. I remember 12 months ago sitting/sleeping/living in a recliner and wanting to get back into the ring. Relax and know how appreciative we are to you on this team. Let any of us know how we may best help you and the family. Steve and I will take care of the bike, you get well! There is no sprinting in the race to recover. Read and comment here when you can. We know you are there attacking us on the road, making us better/stronger teammates.

  2. Good to hear you came of relatively light in terms of injuries (although I'm sure you would argue that!). Final sprint crashes are normally pretty nasty and this one looks like it didn't disappoint. I know we all took a look at those pictures and were a) excited to see you sprinting for the win and cheering you on (even though we knew how it ended up) and b) amazed you didn't break more bones. We all look forward to seeing you back on the bike eventually and, although it is forced, enjoy a well earned break off the bike. If you need anything, Dahlgren isn't that far from your place. Get well.

  3. If its any consolation Jeff, you look like the warrior you are coming down the stretch before the crash...and damned acrobatic in the air!!

take care buddy and follow the doctor's orders (relax, heal and watch the TdF fireworks!)

  4. Jeff I wish you a speedy recovery. I am thankful for all the support you have given the team this season. If there is anything at all you need, just let us know! Farmville is known for its furniture outlet, I can get you a good deal on a leather recliner and ottoman from which to get well! Take care, buddy.

  5. Jeff, A new nickname; Either Superman or Flying Squirrel, What a photo sequence. The extra link really shows the other guy drifting into you (not much consolation). My wife wonders why you were smiling, I explained it was probably a grimace (or Warrior face). You have kick ass soooo well this year. I cant wait to race with you next year. Speedy recovery! Remind me to tell you the story about the night I broke my ribs in maine MTB'ing

  7. How are those percocet working for you? When we talked on Sunday you sounded pretty fuzzed out. Hang in there; we all know how long it takes for ribs to feel better so don't feel like you need to rush anything. Let anyone of us know if we can do anything to help while you recover.

  8. Jeff too bad man. You're a good man for being polite in the comments section of the photo spread. IDK if I could have done that. Anyway man, hold your head up and we'll see you soon.

  10. Good update Jeff. I like your training plan; it sounds like the one I was on before Bill hijacked my fitness regime.
